If you find one next to a Plains Biome, this could be quite a useful place for building your house, as this is quite common. These Biomes are the 2nd rarest Biome. Because of its rareness, these biomes spawn enourmous hills and are the only biome which has emerelds in, which is got via mining.
This biome is quite common beside Jungle Biomes, and as Jungle Biomes are common, Deserts can be found easily. This biome is very commonly found near Desert Biomes, making this time saving if you want to build your house in a Desert. Snow Plains Tundra are the snowy equivilent of Plains Biomes.
Since Snow Plains have as much snow as grass, finding one can be useful. Since Snow Forests have as much snow as grass and many, many trees, finding one can be useful. Witch huts are VERY rare, one only spawns around 1 in every 20 Swamp Biomes, but some seeds can spawn you next to one.
Swamp Biome trees are a mixture between oak and jungle trees, yet the wood block being 'Oak'. The 'jungle' bit is the result of vines hanging down from the trees. Ocean biomes spawn water and islands, which make spawning in one a great Survival island seed.

Oceans are uncommon, and only spawn off beaches, not in the middle of nowhere. If the conditions are followed, the blue probably means ocean, green for plains and white for snowy. Red could be mesa, purple could be mushroom islands. This could be another reason why you are not getting as many jungle biomes as the other biomes. This is true for the mesa biome as well. For example, Savannah spawns next to desert. Deserts can get very large, as can "temperate" biome collections. Some biomes are larger than others - ice plains can get large. Savannah, jungle, and Mushroom island are indeed very rare, but all biomes can usually be found within 8K - 10K blocks of spawn, most often closer. Some biomes are very common, even though they are small - forests, extreme hills, and plains are examples.
Mesa, mushroom, jungle, ice, and spruce are the rarest but we totally underestimate how easy it is to find one. Example: Even in creative mode we might go forward flying looking for one but one slip of a finger can turn you right back around in survival one might run from mobs or turn to avoid a mountain and go in circles when one could be just up their another example as if you were in a jungle or mesa it would be just as hard to find dessert or grassland or savanna as I have spent hours in mesas and jungles trying to get out other rare biomes such as spruce and ice are literally tiny and it will be easy to find another biome other biomes will also take a long time to escape.
Well personally the rarest biomes i have found are mushroom islands and Jungles, could never find either off them, then found them both yesterday! I spent most of my time on the boat to find cool biomes, including mesa which i recently found.

Asked 4 years, 6 months ago. Active 1 year, 4 months ago. The following is a simple summary of the biomes by difficulty, overall cold biomes are more challenging than their hot counterparts.
These biomes are rich in flora and fauna, and also have a slightly elevated rate of disease. They generally have year-round growing periods, or longer growing periods at the very least. Traveling speed is fast in normal forests and average in dense forests but slow in marshes and during cold seasons if they have one. Forests of deciduous trees interspersed with fertile clearings.
Many species of animals move around among the trees and on the plains. Wetlands choked with vegetation and disease. Dense overgrowth makes it hard to move around, and clearing areas for building takes a long time. Much of the terrain is too marshy to support heavy structures. A more wet version of the Temperate Forest.
Like in all swamps, diseases are more common. The marshy soil will probably require bridges before constructing buildings and the terrain is really slow to travel, but this biome also has more fertile soil. A thick, moist jungle, buzzing with animal life and infested with disease.
Despite its visual beauty, this is a very dangerous biome. Choking overgrowth, aggressive animals, and constant sickness are why some explorers call this the "green hell". Tropical Rainforests are famous for having many diseases, including Sleeping Sickness : a slow-progressing, long-lasting disease that is exclusive to the tropics. Many trees make it difficult to clear land and rapid plant growth makes it difficult to keep it clear.

Much of the land is too marshy to build on. Difficult movement, aggressive animals, and rampant disease make living here a nightmare. A more wet version of the Tropical Rainforest. Like in all swamps diseases are more common. Diseases are even more constant here than in Tropical Rainforests, so making a proper hospital and having good doctors is a priority. These biomes become progressively dry as they become more arid.
Moderate amount of flora and fauna, which drops off as you pick a more extreme biome. Mostly year-round growing periods. Traveling in those biomes is usually fast and rarely slowed by cold seasons.
